Sustainability Consultant

If you want to contribute to driving and implementing a sustainable agenda in companies, then the role as a Sustainability consultant might be for you.

In this job you will work on developing and optimizing the company’s sustainability goals. You will also assist with implementation of initiatives to reach these goals.

What does a Sustainability Consultant do?

• Stay up to date on regulations and relevant certifications
  
  
• Collect and analyze data e.g. data measuring CSR progress
  
  
• Work cross-functionally to achieve sustainability goals
  
  
• Contribute to the public communication
  
  
• Drive and implement (parts of) the sustainability strategy
  
  
• Ensure commitment and co-ownership of the CSR agenda within other departments

Example of work as a Sustainability Consultant

A large Danish company have developed a Sustainability strategy with some ambitious goals.

To ensure progress and accountability the strategy is divided into five separate tracks. A sustainability consultant working in the department is given project management responsibility for one of the tracks.

Together with IT she sets up a dashboard tracking relevant KPIs to ensure progress.

At a monthly basis she makes sure that all the data that goes into the dashboard is updated and correct.

She also collaborates with marketing and PR to ensure the sustainability track is properly communicated – both inside and outside the organization.
