Change manager

The goal of a change management consultant is to maximize adoption of the intended change and minimize uncertainty. In this role you will develop and execute change management plans.

Many changes today are IT-related. Therefore, change management roles can be divided into two categories: Some look for an IT-profile while others look for an HR-related profile.

What does a Change manager do?

Example of work as a Change manager

An organization is implementing a new IT-system. This will influence the daily workflows of many employees.

The Change manager gets a thorough overview of the new system.

She has meetings with representatives from the different departments to understand their need for the system and potential challenges.

Based on this, she makes a change strategy. The strategy covers change impact, risk analysis, training needed, communication plan, identification of stakeholder concern and roadmap for roll out.

When it’s time for execution she communicates the new system.

She is also involved in creating and adjusting the training material for different departments. During roll out she ensures that concerns and issues are dealt with on an ongoing basis.
