Graduate


On a graduate program you typically rotate between different departments. In a two-year graduate program you might have three rotations.


There are graduate programs within different areas e.g. marketing, finance and supply chain management.


Graduate programs are often seen as a fast-track career path within the company.

What does a Graduate do?


  • Get to know the department in which you rotate

  • Participate in the department’s current projects

  • Specific task will depend on the department, but tasks could be

  • Breaking down a problem in a structured manner

  • Collect and analyze information

  • Participate in strategy development for the area

 


Example of work as a Graduate


A graduate in a big Danish company is assigned to the innovation department within IT.


During his rotation he participates in the development of the Digital strategy.


This entails participation in workshops, gathering input from stakeholders, organizing work sprints in specific workstreams and updating management of progress.


He gets the responsibility of communicating the strategy internally. This demands close collaboration with multiple departments and careful planning in order to get the right messages across to the right people at the right time.


After six months in the department, he rotates to a new department in a new business area – taking with him his experience and new knowledge of the company.
