Bank analyst


“Analyst” is a frequently used entry level job tittle in banking. An analyst in a bank can work in many different fields e.g. fixed Income, risk or e-trading.

The field will determine what you mainly work with and your specific tasks. Nonetheless many analysts in banks do research and analyze a market/opportunity/risk/dataset, build client relationships or develop the business.

Example of work as a Bank analyst


An analyst in a large Danish bank has been given the task of updating the entire team of the market every day at 10:00.


To do this the analyst starts each day with research. The research entails checking what has happened on the market the day before e.g. interest rate developments and looking into any relevant political situation that might influence the market.


He then sums the research up by making a PowerPoint presentation.


He covers what has happened the day before and what to expect today.


At the 10:00-meeting the analyst presents the findings and take any questions that might raise.
