As an IT consultant you will leverage digital possibilities to tackling complex digital challenges.

IT consultants vary a lot in how technical they are – from highly technical programmers to more business focused roles. Likewise, they vary in the specific technical area they consult in. Common for all is that they work on IT solutions for a problem the business has.

Example of work as an IT consultant

A medium sized scale-up company experience shortcoming of their ERP-system.

The company have grown significantly in size and complexity. Now the current system doesn’t support the e-commerce platform sufficiently.

The IT consultant starts interviewing people around the organization to understand the exact needs.

He then proposes several possible solutions to validate if this would address those needs.

Once a possible solution is validated, he participates in the development of the solution.

The solution is then delivered to the organization for testing. Possible problems are found and dealt with.

Finally, the IT consultant handles the roll out of the new solution in the entire organization.
